Farewell to Summer

The sunrises out at the house in Mastic Beach have been so beautiful lately. Here are some shots from the last official day of summer down by the beach. A great blue heron and a white tail deer were also enjoying the view.

More Kootenai

Another image from the amazing Kootenai River in North Western Montana. Wow. This may be my favorite scenic shot from the trip. So cool to see the trash and tires in such amazingly clear and green water. This is stitched together from four wide angle frames.

Knik Glacier Tour

Here are more shots from my glacier tour that I mentioned in an earlier post. What a great time. Tom was such a wonderful host and has a great outfit, if any of u ever find yourself up in Anchorage looking for an adventure, it's not that far out of the city. His site is knikglacier.com. He hooked me up with a cabin at his friend's lodge up the road, knikriverlodge.com where we also had the most amazing meal. Thanks again to Tom for all he did.

Remembering September 11th

Hard to believe it was eight years ago. And there is still such a hole in the ground. My partner Nick always walked through the mall underneath the Towers at that time of the morning as he headed to work to American Express, which is the bldg on the right. He decided to go in late that morning, something I might add he never does, and was in the shower when the first one hit. I had just walked in from taking Kachina, the news was on and said "honey, you're not going to work today"... My heart goes out to those people that lost loved ones that day, especially my friend Kerry, who lost her sister. Tragic.

More Amazing Alaskan Landscapes

Some more panoramas from Alaska. I loved all the fireweed that seems to grow everywhere. I was told that when it stops flowering it means six weeks to winter. Such beauty. Want to go back to see the big mountain ranges, which were covered in clouds the whole time for me...

Hotel Griffou's Larry Poston

Here's a shot of restaurateur Larry Poston that I did for BlackBook last month. Hotel Griffou is pretty sweet and has gotten great reviews, so check it out if u get the chance. Seward, Alaska

The trip down to the coast led me to Seward, one of Alaska's main ports and fishing villages. I photographed a guy named Alex who works there seasonally in the summers. The town was really cool, although expensive, like most of Alaska. Here are a few shots from there, including the marina, the shops from a dock, the alehouse (a boy's gotta drink...), and the sun setting over some local homes. Really picturesque.

Knik Glacier Tour

Here's a panoramic of the Knik Glacier outside of Palmer, AK which I visited on the trip. The owner of the tour guide company, Tom, contacted me about participating in the project, whom I gladly included. Will post more pics of the excursion soon. The weather could have been a little better, but such is life.
